It was a normal day on December 17, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. A guy was in the midst of traffic on his way to work just like everyday. He looked around thinking how much time is lost because of it and got so frustrated that within seconds he decided to tackle this issue and change the way everyone travels. He even tweeted about it in the middle of the traffic and within a couple of hours he announced the name of the company and his determination to do it. That guy is none other than Quora’s beloved Elon Musk.
His first tweet was at 7:05 AM, then 8:15 AM, 8:16 AM and fourth one at 10:17 AM.
So why interesting?
Because people can imagine self driving cars, making payment using our faces, quantum computers and whatnot but who would actually think about driving through by digging tunnels. He saw the problem and he had an idea, he didn’t care about funding, regulations, getting the right team or anything else, he just wanted to benefit the world.
If he succeeds which he probably will, this will change the course of transportation history and some years from now we will be looking at that moment as most interesting 5 seconds in history.
