Gas 282.24.  3.325 miles  comes out to about 26 miles per gallon

Food 325.50.  Mostly me stuffing my face

 8 nights cost of motel  room 454.27  6 nights free at my Brothers home priceless 

Miscellaneous 345.30

An with Sheri in the Brockton Hospital for 4 days 

And the $170 to fly her back to Orlando from TF Green RI, 

So all in all 15 days + $96 per day

Nice little southern town of Walterboro South Carolina

Seafood I'm stuffed

Internets sucks 

But the seafoods good,,,,if I eat any more I'm going to sprot gill,s 

 

So today the SUN came out and the heat as well 78 so it's off to the Beach

To get my feet wet its cold but not that bad 

And it was a good day  to fly the kite  bear foot  with the sand in your toes  it can't get much better n that

We're in So,Yarmouth Cape Cod  till Sunday AM  my old stomping grounds to eat and rest  but mostly  for me to EAT and Sheri to rest

Stopped at Seafood Sam,s  great lots better than the junk in the south 

The PNW has good seafood in its own right like crabs clams and fish but it's the way it's cooked and the batter that use 

 Now for the chowder no one beats new England's it,s the BEST here by far

And that was the first thing on my order for lunch today

The only thing bad is its COLD well by our southen temps were used to 

Today's temps were 66 

At least we have sweatshirt  but me with no long pants  well I will live with it 

I don't want to play today

After sleeping last night with the air conditioner on and then taking the dogs out for a walk tonight when it's cold and rainy and I feel like crap I'm going to be worse it sucks

Plus today was a 12 Hour Drive. It's fun going over the George Washington Bridge that sucks to

Well I sure hope you're happy with your gas prices   Because it is 2,79per gallon for regular in Connecticut

$2.20 for regular on the New Jersey Turnpike

When I used to run GWB The total was five dollars now it's 14 that really sucks to

But if it's any consolation the New York throughway on 95 is a dollar and a half  that don't suck

It's 8 o'clock at night I'm going to bed

What can I say about quality inn wow. I didn't know they let working girls in here.

 Don't get me wrong I'm not against a  woman make a couple of bucks by freelancing

$60 a night the dogs stay free and no that's the price of the room she doesn't do dogs 

Well  if you like rain we definitely had it this morning

We left red roof inn about 7 o'clock and from that point to about 230pm it was raining on and off and some of it really heavy

So after that the sun came out and it was time to play

So we drove some more

I didn't get a photo of it but the lowest price of gasoline was 1,84$

As soon as  we crossed over into Virginia gas jumped up to 2,29$

As for tomorrow it will be the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel and Bridge (toll)

And pushing on word and Northword

We came across the ideal fixer-upper,, although I think you have to do is figure out how to make it waterproof.  But it does have some great potential and a lot of acreage.there is a second criteria You will need to know how to pick cotton but think of it being outdoors with nice weather.. And friendly neighbors

Or you could look at it another way the fire department has never lost a cellar  yet

One of the ironic things about going the back way and off the beaten path you really see

Interesting architect in the small towns and the way people live back in the 30s 40s and 50s as well of the 60s 70s and 80s and 90s

It's really not unusual to see a Old style cracker house with a porch everything is falling down around it and then you have a Doublewide 100 feet away

If you have the ability to think back to the 1700s One can get an appreciation for the modern conveniences like a diesel tractor combine. Opposed to a very bad back bending over picking you know what and I think how far apart some of the farms and plantations well  you certainly didn't go into town to get something that you forgot the first time it would probably be a two day trip

In all the traveling that I've done in and around the US states,, even so there's a lot of agriculture a Georgia South Carolina North Carolina Virginia and you still can't be the heartland of America Kansas Oklahoma Indiana Iowa  that to me is the true heartland of America,,, Even so I Marvel at the fact that farmland here on the East Coast produce and abundance array of products some crops not found anywhere in the United States but here 

Myrtle Beach and we can't see the beach from here

OK were red roof inn  65$$ a night, Myrtle Beach South Carolina and, Dogs stay free

It's amazing what $15 more will get you,, Twin queen size bed no stains on the ceiling  all the plumbing work

We left Hardeeville at 8:30 and stopped at Myrtle Beach at 4:45 not a great amount of distance but we're moving

Only drawback it's the second floor but I've got it all figured out I can throw my duffel bag out the window and I just loaded in my car no dragging our luggage downstairs or using the elevator

At least at Myrtle Beach SC things seem to be a little more civilized  then Hardyville

Still on 17 it was a really Pleasant nice ride with no rain and a somewhat overcast day

I have no idea how many towns we went through I lost track after 20,, but then again that's the reason why we took 17

The best part about taking The back roads is finding small little out of the way niches

The only problem with that is you got to be careful with your pocketbook and the things that you might want to buy and where you going to put it 

I did suggest mailing one of the dogs back to the Florida but I got voted down on that

As close as We are I'm hoping to make Norfork Virginia  and over to the Chesapeake Bay (tunnel ) and Bridge side,,  like today tomorrow will be a crapshoot Motel wise

We were passing through Walterboro South Carolina it came across a cute little church

Now about 5 miles outside of Walterboro Off 17 is Anderson airfield with a monument dedicated to the Tuskagee airman  of WW2

For those that don't know and I didn't either it was also a German prisoner of war camp

And a camouflage testing area so I really think the camouflage work because I looked around I couldn't see any buildings and I couldn't see any germans so to their credit it works

Most everybody that went there were shipped overseas to Europe that was their last training facility at Anderson Air Field

Slow free Wi-Fi and 329 miles

OK If it's any consolation we left Cocoa at 8 am now at 4pm (well that comes  out to 41 mph )( where speedsters )were in Hardyville South Carolina.  Gas is 2.15  here although in Georgia we did see gas at 2.09 but it averaged at 2.15 as well 

All I can say is it's a big effing woop be due

But the drive here was fantastic. We decided to drive to Jacksonville on 95 once we get on the other side of Jacksonville at the Georgia border we took 17 that's what we're going to stay on most of this trip going north at least to Norfork Va,

Our first night is Hardeeville So, Carolina it's wonderful claim to fame is motel 8 even if it is 100 years old  now please don't go by the fantastic pictures you see in the brochure their bullshit

You won't find it at this hotel,,  no Siri Bobby know what you will find is 100-year-old hotel has the same original furnishings  same rug the same stains on the ceiling along with the big gap under the door and no I haven't tryed  out the bathroom yet?? 

Now at $44 and some change which came out to $50 for two they never asked about the two dogs which are 10$ each but if I don't get caught that would be great Plus Betty found out she can piss on the floor and I will not smack her,, now The first room we were in the bathroom didn't work and somebody smoked in it The room not the bathroom but then again I could be wrong there to,, now if you have to come to Hardeeville S C and you want to eat my suggestion is highly recommended go out of town to eat but definitely not at the new China restaurant

 I'm not sure how to describe warm stale food other than to say it was not hot and downright pretty bad definitely checking that off our list

But then I guess you get what you pay for 6.99$  ?? Worth

So really on a brighter note I didn't think we were going to make it this far today

Even so we did run into some rain around 2 an 3 o'clock 

The other thing being a Labor Day holiday surprisingly very little traffic even so we were not on 95 but running parallel to it, it didn't look that bad 

then again tomorrow morning we're going to probably running to the people going to work

But being old farts will just take our  time and slow everybody else down

Well I'm kind of having a problem here it has to do with church and chapel

The definition of a church is one denomination

The definition of a chapel is all denominations or nondenominational

As you see on the sign it says chapel as well as christ church so it is a church really not a chapel

It only has a congregation seating of 13

OK I think I figured it out Christ had 12 apostles adding Christ makes 13 so we're trying to figure out who is going to conduct the sermon,,,,,, we figured it out see photo below

So being non-denominational everythings cool

            And yes the Church bell does work

Always nice to have a new toys

Always wanted one now We got one

I have always wanted to make hardwood canes,,

But I never really had the means to do it so we made a joint venture and bought a 38 

Lathe so now I could have a special project to do

I decided to splurge on a new adjustable Chuck

That's the shiny chrome thing that you see on the headstock,,also good for turning bowls I think that's something my Son will do,,,, well can't say I won't try my hand in it along with maybe some other projects

                   Oh well boys and their toys

                                                  At least it keeps us out of Victoria secrets

Have you ever really thought about it

I keep saying that my dogs are from Mars or a foreign planet somewhere out in the solar system they got planted here  for a purpose and I think it was to find love 

if you really think you found them thank again I think they really found you

It's like going to a foreign country and adopting somebody and they never try to learn your language

Now on the other hand    If your dog came from another solar system or another planet how come he can understand you and you really can't understand him,, outher then his antics

If you think about it he only asked for two things one is his bowl of food the other is your unconditional love and a scratch or a rub  on the belly

And he will be your best friend forever and ever,,, and that makes him your best friend to

So no matter where he comes from he,s your pal
