From Bus,s to Old Band,s to Endless Roads

Well  state road 86 is a real set you back in time road as well as state road 60
not many states your better half can sit in New Mexico and you can sit in Texas
and eat breakfast an sit across the table
well you can at A ME DS in texico NM / Tx
Well for the Old time  Bob Will,s Fiddler fans  this was his home town  this signs for you
and a real cool 40s/50s  gas station it looks like the pride of turkey Tx
love the old restored gas station,,  even has the old car lift
now if you like old 1950 spartan silver sides you "ve never seen one like this it,s a one of a kind it,s a motorhome
the owner split it in half and put a motor in it and at one time it did drive
the photos of the inside at one time were unreal  it,s a shame it,s rotting away like this
when was the last time  u went to the Drive In   and it was closed for the winter and don,t ask me which one
well now that the water tank is out and the gens in it,s a nice fit if i do say so myself
to the end we will go

It's rock an roll to blow my short off

WIND WIND AND MORE WIND and dust
When we stop at the lights we get blown back 2 spaces
ain,t no fun and the gas miles drop from 11mpg to O-Shit,,,and yes toto the wind blows in Texas to
I need a wind generator out here not a solar panel
Now in south Texas along the coast some blogger are telling it,s 103 there hot.  i,m glad we moved north it.s 65/69 and blowing no A/C tonight
So we stopped in the town of Tulia Tx at a truck stop on 86 and 27
Gas is 3.45$  diesel 3.89$. Wind is free
We were in 287 and that was a 2 lane Hy that was rolling through the grasslands a real nice drive
But we would like to do Rt 60 through Tx in to NM  to Az and bypass most of I-40
So we switch over to 86 w and that takes us to 60 about 11 miles before NM state line
So we will see

Do I need a gen-set?? And Woo woo,s

Well I have one now 669$$$ later the suckers even got remote start and stop I don,t even need to get out of bed well at my age I do
It,s a champion 3500/4000 Elton, with remote start
Now with the big savings at campers world O boy I spent a lot Tham suckers
First off tractor supply has the same thing for 499.99 + tax (but not in stock)
Carpers world 629.99 regular price  now membership price is 559.99$$ with free shipping (to the  nearest store???).  Duh ship it out the door and put it on my truck it's 75 feet right outside
Now it cost 25.00 $$$ to join  to get that discount of 559.99$$
Now after telling the sale gal tractor supply has the same thing for 499.99$$
Wow she took 25.00$$ off the members price for price matching wow did I save a boat load of $$$$$$
any way how do I get my 59.99 back. Over priced by 34.99$$ + stick it to the member 25.00= 59.99

Now I need to figure out how and were the water tank is going to go
As of now it's in the trailer bay, I can use it in there  and fill it if I need it
I'm only  using  it for more water when boon-Ing  so???will- se

One good thing the roads are a LOT better in Texas thank god
We're on I-20 w and will switch to SR 69 nw to go around DFW to Denton Tx and pick up SR 287nw
To Amarillo Tx

Something's u got to love about TEXAS

View photo.JPG in slide show
 see the bucket
                                                      that,s a TEXAS lamp post
                                                       to light the power box

killer road,s

today was tabasco sauce kind of day went to the factory tour  it lasted all of 18 minutes in and out
i spent more time at Mc, D eating
really disappointed seeing as how we we spent 2 day here
there tax dollars ain,t working for the road system they will kill your car or truck in real fast ,,pot holes patch bumps  stay away if u got dental filling
however the fried  shrimp and gumbo was real good
finally someone that knows how to make good frying batter
how would i rate the campground   Maxie,s mobile valley  Broussard La  12.00$$ pr nite with PPA
about a 2
it,s real old and i mean OLD  and right next to the hi-way (100ft) with a lot of noise 24/2

seem like most trailer,s have been here for many many years
wal-mart would be my better choice next time or one of the casino,s here
time to move on we will hit I- 49 north to I-20 west

Don't, eat Walmart potato salad.

Miss sheri,s post there are more rednecks here than in Florida. Even the alligators are rednecks. This is Eds screw up. We are in a RV park that doesn't have trash cans for public use. Himself is not beyond a lot. We came close to walking out of a dealership with a motor coach. He, s worse than a kid. The dogs have taken to the trip very well. They have learned how to stay in the backseat, finally. Betty is still miffed at me and Marco thinks Ed doesn't love him any more. Oh! The shame of doggiedom. Well tomorrow is a trip to the Tabasco plant and a hot time in the bathroom that night. Well hope everyone is having as much fun, and we will blog  again tomorrow. Mr. Ed went to Walmart to get us a pickin chickin, beans french bread and real crappy assed potato salad and strict orders of no more crappy assed potato salad. For the record gas is 3.39 and diesel is 3.79. We,ll be here for three days because there,s a Cajun festival tomorrow. Lots of nose singing and picking tunes on a harmonica. Weather is kind of nice about 75 during the day and 66 at night.

Hot hot hot

Ok we spent 21$$ at bass Pro,s  junk stuff and ear plug
We're at the Louisiana state line on I 10w where we can over nite at the welcome mat rest area with FREE wifi , how cools that
in Alabama   gas is 3.45 diesel is 3.59
At this time were thinking of switching from I 10 to I 49 north to I 20 w to 35 n to I 40 west
As the temps are in the 80s were not going to run out of the heat on I 40 till about flagstaff but it will take us out of the heat strip  some what  off I 10 and closer to cottonwood Az
We will do lower Az after oct, or so
As much as I had a real push to do the southwest  people to see places to go , the 5er,s  has no gen, set to run the A/C
But I'm looking for a 3500w  to put in the truck bed for when we stop during the day
The nites are fine for us for now mid 60s
We're stoping at Lafayette  Louisiana for 2 or 3 day to indulge ourselves in some Cajun broken nose music
I think a screech owl could make the top 40  down here with out much practice
So with my ear plug go I  ,,,,,flash ,,,,,,I got a hearing aid  with an off button cool let the fun begin
An NO I don't suck crawfish
And no u can't have my old generator Angel

U got to LOVE LOVE,S

To wake up in the morning and smell the aroma of fresh piss in the truck parking lot.
diesel smoke and parking lot piss
it clears you sinuses right off the bat and starts your day  (that,s truckers before shave cologne)
We're at Cottondale fl on l 10 and were leavening 72.40$$ for fuel  at 3.98$
It,s coming out at 12.4 MPG
Short day tomorrow only as far as the Mobile Al  at Bass Pro. (sorry no firearms  )
Got to many as it is but I need STUFF

Monday, April 21, 2014

Ok now what

We closed the trash house up sun, and out the door by 1030a
Today 185 miles
We're here at cedar key for 2 days 13 pr, nite with PPA. The rates pr, mo, is 310$
(however your in the middle of no were and 8 miles  from town  BUT theres a dollar general  here making a boat load of money  it,s the best game outside of town )
next camp ground over is 19 pr, nite and that's with PPA
However each camp ground  has there very own gang of no seeum,s and with no wind there out big time
How would we rate this park
Angels campground about a 5  however the staff and owner were great and a lot of help
The 5 is that it,s and older park with a lot of old trailers on one side and snowbirds on the outher side

So we took a drive to the center of town     Now were about 8 miles out of town and it took us longer to get there than to drive all the streets in town
This is no place we would care to be in a hurricane
Ok let,s just say it,s real quint
we're going back for dinner and before sundown on the waterfront  to try the seafood wish us luck

Note for,,, dinner at Steamer,s ,,,don't go there  16 miles RT   3th floor up 51.00$$ out the door with no kiss or pat on the b-hind,,  food  poor
