Trains & Boats

                       Big boy toy

Port of Garibaldi, Oregon  on Rt. 101

Sun and berries

Garibaldi, Oregon is a port town nestled at the northern end of Tillamook Bay, gateway to the magnificent Pacific Ocean. At the marina, commercial fisherman sling fresh Dungeness crabs, ling cod, rockfish, and even octopus up to the docks, sport fishermen tell tales at the filet table about their record Chinook, kayakers paddle out to look for bald eagles, pigeon guillemots, and purple martins, while gulls circle above and harbor seals surface to see what’s going on. The steamer train blows its horn, children laugh at the playground, and, if you listen real hard, you might hear talk about that secret spot to dig up a limit of butter clams….

Walking distance from the marina are four motels, RV parks, bed and breakfasts, and vacation rentals. Many hometown restaurants, all kinds of shops, and a maritime museum are all part of this quaint coastal town of 1,000.

Now for the real News

We're about 100yds from the towns main st. And 75 yd.s from the harbor and the fog don,t forget the fog, even so it's sunny here , it's foggy over there ( other side of the bay )

It,s a  working fish and wood mill town,  the mills runs  all night trucks forklifts saw mill you name it it's running

The fish boats and trucks in and out

But for 29$ a day  and for 4 days it's fine  I think after 2 day no one cares

Now the best part of the day no matter were you drive in this state there berries red black there all over the place anyone can pick to your hearts  content an you will never make a dent  in the forest

15 min,s work picking black raspberry  on the side road  PANCAKES  tomorrow

Move it,, Move it Move it

We're out of here today and moving south about 100 miles give or take  I'm thinking  Tillamook Or
For a week but this move is a jello shot as to stop over night

Cookie Butter

F12 Ways to Eat Cookie Butter

12 WAYS TO EAT COOKIE BUTTER

I’m only human. Like most people, when I heard about the existence of cookie butter, my mind began to reel. Sure, given my recent obsessions with SunButter and almond butter, I was apprehensive. But like any “butter” addict, curiosity got the best of me. I managed to rearrange my entire schedule to make it to Trader Joe’s before closing, and boy am I glad I did.
The label describes it best as “a deliciously unusual spread reminiscent of gingerbread and made with crushed biscuits.” But there is something about it words could not possibly explain. Once you get yours, you might be tempted to empty the entire jar with a spoon. So proceed with caution (and maybe get a second just in case — some things are inevitable!).  Here are the 12 best ways to eat cookie butter:

1. Drizzled over your favorite frozen candy bar

Spot on

No there not seagull,        Looks like it's time to clean the lens
And the brown you see in the sea by the sea shell  she sells sea shells
Ok it all I remember
So any way the brown stuff you see in the water is sea algae
And it stinks like crude oil after it drys on your clothes on your dog under your truck and high tide mark
From the southern beach access  about 2 miles down the beach is a real big rock outcrop
And tidal pool and the kids love to play in and find sea stuff   Me 2

The best nap I missed

Rain off an on all morning and most of the day
Nuts day shot, went to Astoria for a late breakfast  and on to Seaside  Or to a kite shop,
on the ten scale
it was about10 for  tourists
But for me it,s a 2
no kite string my size no kites to buy and about 50to 60$ way over priced
Can,t  sell me carbon fiber rods so it was a bust there  I could have dropped 50 or 75$$
For the stuff I needed O well there loss
Seaside is ONE BIG TOURIST TOWN with trinket to sell the white man
We could not get our asses out of town fasten enough to please me
But no sales tax in Or
so stoped in a kitchen store and I picked up a Lodge griddle skillet for 23.99 other stores I looked at were priced 45/50$  for the same thing ??
Did I say no sales tax,,,, way to go Oregon
D, fuel in Or 3.89$   Gas is 3.55$   And you CAN!T pump your own fuel that's the law in Or (cool )        And in Wa it,s 4.26$.    Gas 3.78$  and YOU pump your own dam fuel
Rain and overcast are  FREE comes with the PNW
There's a Safeway put but we did not stop we know the prices are higher all over. even in Fl
Stoped at a Fred  Myers stores Food cost are 10% less In Or then Wa
but there higher than wall-marts in the lower states  but there the only game in towns over this side
Nearest WM 55 miles
Maybe Thursday will be nap day ???

Lazy day ? now what ?

Sunny yesterday, rain today,  fun in the northwest ,
This photo was last weeks so you can see how crappy the day looks when it,s a crap day out
Now if it's sunny remove the clouds and think blue sky's  see you can do it

Took the truck on the beach yesterday  about noon darn i love that part i wish we could do that in our beaches
Here one can drive for miles to get away to have room by yourself. To fly my kites and if I crash no one sees it
With my silver fox kite and my para foil  kite

I'm teaching myself to fly and so far is fun as long as its IN the Air
I will never be great at it but as a novice I'm have fun,, and fun at my age that's great
It's better than sitting on the porch watching the paint dry
I know someday I'm going to try that

Looks like Marco and i will test the couch for a nap time,    there looking at rain all day

Astoria Sunday's Crafters Foodie an 5 farmers at a market day

It looks like take your dog to the market day All the mutts were there and most were under foot to
Now why would someone take there dog to a crowded market to a place he does not need to be
Leave the MUTT  home he's fine. He happy to sleep and lick his nuts and pee on the floor in a spot you will never find its his fun game

So looking at all Tham tents I was in seven heaven. Thinking food to cook and eat,, boy was i in for a REAL big letdown
Now let's look at the mister farmer. the reason his prices are way bit higher is he come a long way
To sell his vegetables
Good lord that farmer needs to go all the way to his farm in Mexico Peru Costa Rica Ecuador California to pick his stuff up from his farm to take to the market and all that running arounds a bitch $$$
Thats why there were only 5 farmers there think of the cost
So why not call it a CRAFT FAIR  instead
Or a CRAFT& FOODIE market  and please leave your mutt home day
Crafters are not farmers at least not the last time I looked
Farmers grow stuff, weavers weave and potterer play with mud  and wood carver cut stuff  and someone crushed a beer can and called it ART?
But the black  sign was cool
So this must be how free enterprise works
Good thing fisherman are the last of the breed of real farmers  but you will never sea him at a Crafters market,, he's working Today
